According to reports on March 14th, the Federal Bureau of Investigation will celebrate 60 years of publishing the faces of those most dangerous men and women making that list of criminals. Special Agent Erik Vasys said that the FBI arrested four of the top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive from San Antonio. He also said that the list was first time published in 1950 and they will continue it because it will help to bring awareness in people. They can alert the people of the criminals.
Erik Vasys said now we have social networking where we will also display the most wanted fugitives. A special advisory panel determines the top ten criminals according to their danger to the community and every year they post nearly 500 fugitives. FBI require public help to catch these criminals and its not possible without it. Just because of the posters which have been displayed in the post office at least 50 fugitives have been captured over the years.
The top criminals list has become a part of post offices and banks and now they have extended it. They show the the list on TV shows, billboards and the Internet. Not only this you can also see it on Web sites and trendy social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Retired FBI officer Garrett said that:
It’s probably every agent’s dream to capture a top 10 most wanted fugitive, It wasn’t my driving force, of course, but the idea of being able to arrest a top 10 fugitive is really something. If you’re on the top 10 list, you must be a really bad person, a big deal.”
